I'm 'Bout To Go Wang Chung All Over The Peoples Republic

Ciao fuckers!
Or should I say Nimen Hao!

Naturally this week has been insane. Between packing, unpacking, packing again and work--I dare say I'm half cocked.  I'm also half packed.  I'm exhausted, but it's a good exhaustion.  I'll have plenty of time to sleep on my 14 hour plane ride.

To be honest with youse, I'm a bit nervous. See my world travels have always been European countries. I've never even been to Mexico or Canada.  I know the Peoples Republic is quite modern (I mean it's a superpower for fucks sake) but it's intimidating with the language barrier. I don't know how to say "Hey boo lemme get a young Tito's vodka, three ice cubes and a twist of lemon."  Or how will I be able to say "No lady, I don't want Yaki hair--I need Indian Remy. Wavy, not silky.  Whatchu mean you out of 1B?"

I know I'll come back armed with new adventures, and hopefully new friends.  I have no idea what lays ahead of me, but one things for certain--this is an enormous blessing.  I don't take for granted, the life I have. It may not be glamorous, exotic or even successful. It's often a comedy of errors, mixed with a whole lot of praying, and doing my best not to surrender. Nor retreat.

Never thought in all my years of ordering fried rice, egg foo yung, #7 (no MSG and make sure them shrimps is cleaned) and watching Kung Fu flicks as a kid would actually lead me to an ancient civilization.   I look forward to what this new adventure brings.

The Chinese government is quite strict about web access....so I hope that I will be able to post updates and pictures for you to see.  If not, just know that I'm sending you mad love from the Far East, and as always travel prayers are welcomed.  Have a terrific day mum's possum and she'll be back soon with stories that will make you bust a proverbial nut.

Ciao for now fucker--
I mean: Ta ming jiao Wang Gang. <--Ion't know what that means, but I like the way it sounds.

x
